Default So they are...

These are 1959-made curtains and the fronts fit the Aussie Chev twist type studs, rather than the Ford press studs.

Wish I'd bought more sets back in the 70s when Billy Drew had a truckload for $6 a pair. I can remember at the time thinking mustn't be greedy... there are lots more people who need them.

I think Tim got these from a wreckers yard on the north side of Melb not too far from Pentridge Prison. When I got to the said yard around 1984 only the scraps were left... some left hand side ones and a couple of GMC 6x6 rag top doors.

Kick my self too now as there were NOS Blitz gards laying around in that yard...

As they say... "hindsight is 20~20"

But considering the inflation of the $ since the 70's and you would be shocked at what it will cost you to get that style of door top reproduced they are still are bargan.

Default That yard

Hughes Trading in Coburg. A sad, much lamented loss, there's a segment on it's demise in the Year of the Blitz DVD.

Well the place i'm talking about was not Hughes.... was west of Vic Barracks... there was also a interesting jeep dealership in the area... Stoakos Jeep or something like that... one of the early jeep dealers and remember they even had NOS single speed blitz t/fer cases there.

Default Molong NSW

If your travelling past Molong you must stop in at the scrap yard on the Wellingtion side of town. I picked up ajack, oil can and the motor box there, He also has grease guns there as well as old hand tyre pumps. if you have the time to look around who knows what you could pick up.

Sounds like Vic Drew Used Trucks in Mt. Alexander Rd Moonee Ponds then. Bill Drew now runs the show and is in his 70s... sells mostly hubcaps for cars now.

They're not far from Stokoes (another long lamented loss).
