Isn`t everyone???
All kidding aside, I am suprised that nobody has opted to have repros made from an original set of castings. I wish I hadn`t sold my original. The towing pintle is simply a cmp type which are still available as are the springs. |

...the cue starts behind me and extends round the far corner, however you can have cuts...behind me. I have been barking up this particular tree here since forever.

I always keep a vigilant eye open for such treasures and should I happen to find one, well, it is not for sale.
What I will promise is that I will look into repros though.... |

Snowtractor:
Is that your carrier? Interesting to see the Formation Sign...50 (N) Inf Div (Tyne and Tees), part of 21st Army Group.

... a photo from the magnificient vehicle pages of that superb website MAPLE LEAF UP. My carrier is still in need of the Stacey towing assembly. I will paint it to match any formation of favour of the chap who finds me a hitch and name my second born after them also.

OK gentlemen, and I use the term loosely, about 10 years ago I approached a foundry here in London to cast up steel reproductions of the towing arms. To use the original arms as patterns would mean that the end product would be solid as they could not place a collapsible core inside to produce the cavity. This would produce an arm that weighed about 90 lbs. and cost approx. $200 each back then. To fabricate a split patterns to give you a hollow arm was about ( if memory serves me ) $2000 and then about $250 per arm to cast ( more labour ). I would think that you could almost double those costs today. If you had enough people interested, say 10 people, you would be forking out about $1500 for a set of arms. If there is any interest, I could approach A.G. Anderson Foundries again and get a more firm estimate.

I would be interested but the timing would have to len towards spring. I am all out right now moving out of the north as I promised last year. As of next monday I will be living and working in Edson, Alberta ...for all interested. By next spring I will have a house and spare bedroom so those stopping by will have a place to collapse after drinking up the house store of beer.
So, yes 100%, time table next spring. yours Sean

I have this hitch on my carrier - if I needed one I would be inclined to make one out of steel plate with the pieces cut out ond welded together and if an expert were to be critical it would be inconsequential to me
