Default C15TA pics

Here's a couple of pics to get you started. I don't know they were in British service as there are no markings.

It's interesting how they extended the canvas to form a tent. Next pic:

Some how some made it, i assume, into australian service or at least back to australia if not used here.

I`m sure it was one of these that our local club president had a bonnet forsale only a few magazines ago- might still have it, i am not sure. It was a hell of a lump of steel, id hate to have to be the truck lugging it around!

Ian.

Hi Al,

Do you have any contact details for him- could you message me or email me an email address?
I`ll find out if the bonnet is still available and pass on the details to Brian- alternatively, if Brian wants to contact me i`ll take it from there.

Cheers,
Ian.

Default C15TA picture

Herewith a picture of the C15TA from Harry Bruin, he restored it in less then a year from a basket case to this. I think it is the most driven C15TA in Holland.
See also http://www.degroenesoos.nl/photogallery.php for more pictures.

Denis

I asked this same question some time ago with little response.

The Naval example is probably from a unit called the 30th Naval Assault Unit whose task during the NW Europe Campaign was to seize German Naval Technology before the Russians or our Allies got their hands on it.

From memory more C15TA's were ordered on British Contracts than Canadian ones. Having said this, based on the surviving photograhic evidence, most seem to have sat in base ordinance depots seeing limited service post-war.

The only pictures I have at the moment are from the GHQ Liasion Regiment who seem to have aquired some during late 1944 or early 1945. These are the markings I am currently planning to use.

I am still incidently trying to find some one on the Continent who is willing to source me some Brown Canvas to make a cover for my C15TA. The military canvas dealers over here refuse to stock any as most MV owners are brain washed into believing every thing was painted green during the war.

If a continental dealer has retained the dimensions from one he has already manufactured, I would be happy to buy the finished product.

Neil, Stefan Leegwater had a cover made up from brown canvas, patterned on an original.

Maybe Stefan or Dirk Leegwater is interested in selling you one?

Default brown canvas

Hi Neil,

I think I told you this before, but do not try to buy this stuff from MV dealers, simply because it's not there.
You can get this from any tent or camp shop. It is the modern stuff, that they use for tents and stuff.

No problemo I guess?

Good luck,

Stefan
