Divisional Cavalry Regiments

Gentlemen, I have a question.
In several books I have read that the establishment of the Divisional Cavalry Regiments (Div Cav Regts) for the Australian Army and I assume the British and Canadian, gave a total of 28 light tanks and 44 Bren gun carriers early in the war.
Now ignoring the fact that many never received that many or ended up with more tanks and less carriers, how was that official establishment broken down?
Was it two light tank sqn's and ? carrier sqn's?
Were they mixed sqn's?
How many sqn's and what were they allotted?
