Hi all, now the restoration begins....
I would like to know the measurements of a Ford CMP F-15 1942/3 Australian? bumper bar so I can make a reproduction one. I have the towing rings. (that is a start)... May I please have: a. Length of bar, end to end ![]() b. A diagram or explain where all the holes go & distances from one edge if they are symmetrical. c. Any other relevant data, eg if it has a FORD script stamped into the bar n the back or part number, as appears on the mounting brackets. I have 3/4’s of an original Chev Bar, but from my Parts manuals and Service manuals, do not give dimensions. Help! PS Are Ford Brush guards made from a common leaf spring? eg. 39 Ford Car? Ian. |

Ian, I have a NOS Ford bumper that I could trace for you if you don't find anything closer to home. When Dirk was here we dug it out of the barn for photos. Notice the holes for the jewels in the end of the bumper. You could check the part number to see exactly what it fits.
Cheers, Barry

Hi Barry,
Gee a NOS bumper. Please save it. I have sourced a bumper today, & thankyou for responding. Is there a script on the back? Or a part number? And about the brush guard spring? Is it common to a car? I suspect it is from a '39 Ford car's spring or there abouts? Does anyone know? ![]() Ian |

Ian,
I have at home a set of the brush guard springs and the cross tube if you are interested. The springs are ok but missing the spring clips (easy to make)and most spring works can help out. I removed the assembly of a Blitz at Kingaroy before it was crushed. Tim Berry |
