Post Late Ken Hughes`s Vehicles- Update

Hi all, well i just thought i`d mention a bit on the vehicles at the property- Kingaroy, Australia. Even though i have never been there or met ken, one of the blokes in my club- AMVCS was up there last weekend getting stuff. He reported last night at our meeting that almost everything`s gone apart from most of the blitz`s (CMP`s for anyone out side oz!) and some jeeps. According to him, everything doesnt have to be out till the end of the year, and what is not out then goes to the scrap dealers .

I just thought i`dl et you know what he said will happen so you can make plans or get into gear if you were after anything up there. We can let these CMP`s (and the jeeps and what ever`s there) go to the scrappy`s! i`d love to get stuff, but distance and the piggy bank won`t allow it!

Ian.

Ian,

Thanks for the update!
For the ones among us who do not know what Ian is talking about, see the thread "Huge CMP collection at Kingaroy, Queensland" on the Old MLU Forum.

Default Distance and money

What a shame they're so far away...
You just can't save everything!
Hopefully though someone closer will be able to do something about it.

Yes it`s a shame its so far away! the money i have to buy anything would be spent on getting me there and it home! let alone actually buying anything. im sure once the word gets out people up in quensland will go and get some of the stuff, or at least pick over the vehicles for bits if thats possible.

And i meant to write we CAN`T, not we can!

Default Morris Commercial CS8

Does anyone know what became of the WW2 Morris Commercial CS8 Ken Hughes had in the town yard ? He offered it to me some 5 years ago , but , the distance and the large price put me off.

It was sitting on the back of another truck , possibly a blitz . The bonnet was missing , It had a non original Morris badge on the grill . No body knows what happened to it . Was it moved out to the larger storage area with all the Blitz's ?
