Richard, thanks for the site on the Humdinga. It brought back memories of 1960. My mother worked for Dowty in Ajax and they were working on new projects after "Black Friday, Feb. 20/59" when Diefenbaker announced the cancellation of the Avro Arrow.

I'll settle for an amphibious quad, daren't ask the cost though. I'd like to know how the wheel drives are arranged though to allow those retraction angles, unless its hydraulic or slab/pancake motor drives. And Barry, I have two Dowty aquajets that work fine and move the 11½ tons through the water very well indeed, to say nothing of the Dowty seals found in many important places too. R. |
