Op Brownwood
I'm pleased to submit an A.A.R. of Op Brownwood and to report that despite heavy German opposition elements of the Canadian Engineers, British 6th Airborne Div., 41st Royal Marine Commando, American 101st Airborne, and Free French, Hill A was finally overrun after a "Yamato" run by a CMP loaded with soldiers from all the units mentioned. We stocked up on smoke and fragmentation grenades and ammunition, climbed on board a CMP, and with only enough fuel for one last run up the hill we charged the German position. Fortunately, we caught the Krauts napping as they were over-confident from repelling all the previous Allied attempts to run them off Hill A. The Germans only managed sporadic small arms fire as we attacked the Flak 30 position. Under a veil of smoke we threw our grenades and fired our weapons and decimated the German unit, clearing the way for Allied victory!
I've uploaded a pic from the event which includes three MLUers. The tall, handsome Canadian needs no introduction, 2nd from right is David (Horsa) Gordon and on the far right is David(Alleramilitaria) DeMorrow.
