I am in the process of removing a wiring harness from a Bombardier Iltis. The rear harness has a standard NATO trailer plug on the rear. I have removed the cover, and was able to loosen the screw on backing. Now I have to remove the wires out of the rubber portion of the wiring connector.
Any tips or tricks to get the wires out of the rubber holder, without damaging the wires. Stuart

Lots of WD 40. Small flat head screwdriver soaked in WD40.
Pull from the back, push from the front with the screwdriver. It works...I've done it. Cheers |

I saw your post about removing the Nato Plug and was curious as to why you needed to take the wires out to remove it. The M-series vehicle plugs come out quite easily. I have a wiring harness and body here and measured the diameters of the plug and hole it goes through. German engineering!? It must be even more difficult to re-install the wires and plug. Good luck and let us know if you find an easy way to do it. Gord |

You have to remove the rubber plug from the wire pins on the other end of the rear chassie harness that hooks up under the dash on the driver side as well as it will not fit through the side body panel near the roll bar as I installed a compleat harness on a project just recently. The other plug or plastic retainer that you have to remove as it will not fit through the hole in the front is the headlight plug that attatches on the headlight bulb.
