The attached was at my place tonight drilling some holes for a new shed (carport to my wife).
If the gearbox for the auger looks familiar it's because it's a CMP winch which they use because of it's strength. Watching the extremely rugged work this is doing was impressive considering this rig digs many holes per day. The driller told me they last for years before either the crownwheel or pinion dies. The holes here were 500mm wide by 1.2m deep drilled through shale. The tractor was certainly leaping around. This would have to be close to a 'swords to ploughshares' scenario I would think.
