hi all
one never knows what one will find. in this case, it was a few 8 x 10 b&w glossies of some heritage canadian military vehicles doing their stuff. the pic posted below has a stamp on the back that reads Royal Canadian Air Force Crown Copyright. it also has the following information regarding the picture. "UK13392 only with the aid of bulldozers and bailey bridges is it possible for this allied army and air force to advance so rapidly over italian soil, for the german policy is to demolish every bridge that our bombs have missed. here, in the foreground, the R.C.A.F. city of windsor squadron convoy, on route to a new airfield in italy, crosses a river on a bailey bridge. in the right backround an almost high- level bailey bridge can be seen. given three hours, british and canadian sappers can erect a 90 foot span capable of bearing a 70 ton load."
