Default St. Thomas 02June07

Everybody,

I have recent confirmation of an event in St. Thomas Ontario on Saturday 02June07. The parade is looking for military vehicles to be there by 11:00 AM for a parade at 1:ish thru the city of St. Thomas. There are allegations of a BBQ after the parade for the participants.

I understand that the Elgin Regiment will host Lord Elgin for the weekend, as it is the 60th anniversary of the Elgin Regimental Association.

It sounds like a good time, and I plan to attend. Anyone else up for a parade?

Default Elgin R Celebratrions

Sgt harrisson and some of Normandy Pl should be there and will be looking for a seat. They'll be part of the period overnight encampment as well.

Are there confirmed times and places to be this Saturday at St. Thomas. The carrier is looking for another outing. And no, this is not an issue about the carriers or the drivers sexual preference!!

Aren't the Elgins stood down and 31 CER stood up in their place?

Default The Elgins.

If memory serves, this is to be the last reunion of the WW2 Elgin Regiment association.

I believe that the Reg't's official title is 31 CER, "The Elgin Reg't", but I could be wrong.....I will be there as part of the encampment this weekend, so I'll find out for you and let you know Monday.

Here are some pictures of the parade. I was lucky in that I was able to be the "commander" of Bart the Sherman Tank.

These last 2 are from Stewart Loys wife, "Machine Gun Mary" Thanks for taking them

Default Bravo for the organizers and participants

Looks like a good turn out, providing vehicles for veterans to ride in is something I’d like to see more of here in the States. The blue blazers as standard garb for veterans look sharp and give the visual requisition of a uniform.

Well Done

Thanks for sharing the photos
