Default 15 Recce (LHA) Carriers In Action

Hi folks,
Here is a link to see some phots of the three carriers operated by our club 15 Recce. Events were at Fort Indiantown gap in the winter, the Alan Cors museum, Torrance PA, a private driver training weekend, and the Reading WW2 Weekend.

Default Great

Excellent pics!
Do you know what camera was used? The colours were very interesting.

Good to see such nice images of Canadian and Brit vehicles in action.

Thanks for the kind words!

Keith, there were several cameras used as the pics were taken over the last six years. Most were taken with a Konica 5 megapixil KD-500Z. some were taken with disposable cheapies and the film copied to CD.
As they say "in a previous life" I used to do freelance photography with several Cannon F1 bodies, 8 lenses and kept track of whether to use Fuji at ASA 100 or KodaChome at ASA 25.

It's so fustrating! Now I am lucky to dig the small digital out of the bren pouch to grab a hurried "snap". Of course, with the new digital SLRs with interchangable lens - the mounts for my old Cannon lens won't match up!

Anyway, What I would like to hear, if the estemed list members have time to comment, is what would you do to improve such pictures? i can't imagine a group of folks with more experiance looking at wartime carrier pictures than here.

What would you include or hide, to give the pics a true period feel to them? ( Sometimes we can do something about the modern backgrounds, sometimes we can't. I am going to play with Photoshop a bit to see if I can get rid of modern signs andsuch.

One thing I wish I could do is change the age and physical stature of some of the members to a young, skinny look instead of 40-50 year olds with too comfortable a life!

Cheer,
Jim

Jim,

Great pictures, looks like you have good times playing with these carriers.

I would not change a thing, even making them B&W is making them a bit cheesy if I may say so. Just try to get all the right kit in the picture, with the right background. Don't docter the photos. You could also stage some pics with some highschool boys dressed up as soldiers, would make a great history class project.

Cheers,
Hanno

Hi Brad,
Did you take the BW ones from the Atlanta Army event? I know I didn't.

The others I thought were from my camera. Which ones were yours?

Cheers!
Jim

Hi Brad,
Thanks for clearing that up! And thanks for shareing the other pics as well. The Can Paras made up a damn good showing at that event.

Are you all doing the Caen event in Hagerstown? I Guess that is going too far off topic here though. Just email me direct.
Goeff, my email is posted so many places, I am not worried about spam at this late date - Brad, email renactr2 @aol.com

Cheers,
JIm
