Default Well this is karma

Well there it is almost in the home stretch with the restoration of the 44 chev CMPwith everything bolted down and most things have there final paint on and sure as crap I find Antifreeze leaking from the weeping hole on the bell housing....,Of all places it could have been the front of the engine or the sides but as my luck would have it it is the rear.....So besides the frost plug does anyone have an idea...head gasket...though highly unlikely.

Very Cranky in Gagetown.
Jason

Default Freeze Plug Most Likely

Hi Jason

Your guess is the most probable there are service bulletins about both coolant and oil leaks from the plugs on the end of the block. Picture below shows that both are well hidden in the bell housing behind the flywheel.

Cheers Phil

Default Just had the same problem

Hi Jason

Just had the same thing happen to me with a different cause not in the bell housing. See http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/ne...ote=1&p=141157

Sorry for providing possibly misleading information. Hope you found a simple solution before tearing everything apart instead of going in for the freeze-plug.

Cheers Phil
