Pascal,
It is great to see the "cleaned-up" Loyd "driving" through town. I sure hope you will continue posting pics here, as it would be great to follow your restoration process. I came across this picture of a UC sporting the same wheels, which are likely to be replacement wheels for this UC, like Hanno said. ![]() Source: www.iwmcollections.org.uk |

Here's a nice picture of a Loyd Carrier in service with the Dutch Princess Irene Brigade, most likely in the Mortar towing role - see mortar base on front glacis plate.

Hi there,
great find! I have a Loyd carrier myself, Anti Tank tractor, MKI, No.1 Is used to tow the 2-pdr gun. The Loyd does look very complete. The fuel tanks are missing but everything can be made! One thing I noticed; what is that big transfer case/ gear doing next to the drivers seat? I've never seen this in a Loyd. Is it a modification for that big thing what used to be on the front of your Loyd? I don't think it's original. Any pics of the left inside of the Loyd? Good luck with your restoration. If you need any pics..... greetings, Roland Last edited by Roland Koster; 11-03-07 at 00:05. |

Hi Hanno,
canb you send that last picture as large as possible to my email address? It's the first picture I see of the 2-pdr-Loyd carrier. It is off coruse towing a 6 pounder. But the sowage and esspecially the side panels which are hung on the side of the Loyd are from a 2 -pounder. I still have also the originals attachments on mine. thanks! greetings, Roland |

These are my specifications.
Patent No. 529353 TRACTOR ANTI-TANK MARK I WD No. T 136474 WAR DEPT 136474 CONYTRACT No. 294 / T / 11245 SPECIFICATION No. MARK I VEHICLE No. M.B.W. 1474 ENGINE No. FORD 6933176 just for the record :-) I would love to know when the Loyd was built. It must have been somewhere in the early fourty's. Do you have some pictures of your exhaust/ mufflers? I would be interested to renew the rubber on my wheels too. I wonder how much this will cost and where it can be done. Any other people want to changes the rubber of their shoes? Has this every been done in Holland? |

The Carrier, Tracked, Towing, No.1, was meant for towing AT guns, first the 2-pdr and later the 6-pdr. I doubt it would still have the 2-pdr shields hung on the side when towing a 6-pdr. The 6-pdt AT guns had extra shields as well. Hope this helps, Hanno

Hi Hanno,
I tried to backtrack the source but I don't see nay pics anymore :-( My Loyd was fitted to tow the 2 pdr. It shows on it's indentification plates. I guess it will be difficult to find a 2pdr somewhere lying around. ;-) greetings, Roland |

Here's a photo of the Loyd with it's big CAV headlights (MKI).
This is the only pic I found so far with the straight mudguards, CAV headlights, and toolbox. If anyone have seen any other pictures then I'm looking forward to see them. A few months ago I also found an orignal Loyd carrier engine muff which can be used in cold weather conditions. It's a canvas cover to cover the complete engine cover. Are you still with me?;-) It has al kind of adjustment flaps to control/reduce the cold air flow. On the front is painted : "LOYD CARRIER ENGINE MUFF" and also some partsnumbers. Treasures can still be found!!! gr, Roland |
