Default 2009 MLU calendar photos needed

Ok I intend to do another calendar for next year so I am starting early in my asking for photos of members vehicles for it.

For those few of you who purchased the MLU 2008 calendar you know the quality I need to produce a quality product. I preferably need 3 high res shots of each vehicle - front, sides or front, rear and side. I would also like more then one carrier in the 2009 one as well.

Bob please note - one page is reserved for project Phoenix!

The earlier I get the photos the better please!

Geoff can this post be added to the carrier, armour and softskin forums please?

PM me and I will give you my email address for the photos.

Cliff, I have the original hi-res copy of Stewart's photo of Mike's LAAT in the firelight. It's 2816 x 2112 and 2.7 mb uncompressed in its original format; how big do you want it and what raw overall size and proportion? I made a separate pic of 1280 x 1024 to fit my monitor desktop; it cuts off a little on the bottom and left side to centre the truck where the original highlighted the background more than the vehicle itself, as CMP art. Which style do you prefer?

Jif

PS: A little suggestion for the '09 calendar -- can you include the Corowa week by highlighting or something? Also, smaller numbers if possible to allow for more writing thereon as required, and no monthly overlaps?

I can and will do the Corowa part but the rest means redesigning the whole thing again and it was originally set up for vision impaired people as well as other disabled like myself who need and like the larger numbers. But I have the time to do the MLU one as a seperate entity and will look at it although I fail to understand what you mean by 'monthly overlap'.

With photos I size them to 29.7cm wide X 21cm high which is the size of an A4 page. If the photo will go to one of these measurements the other I make up with by increasing canvas size (white) and centering the photo. I then use photo shop to fudge the edges (slightly wider on the bottom to allow for the wire binding) thus allowing borderless printing without the overspray as the edges are white. Doing it this way I get no real hard border on the edges.

I prefer untouched original photos so I can 'play' with them myself if possible but a Jpeg saved at maximum (10) in photoshop is fine at half the size mentioned for email purposes.

Cheers
Cliff

How many do you need, Cliff? Between Oz, Pommieland & Canuckistan, we should be able to come up with what you require.

...PEOPLE... hi-res pics, please, vehicles only in a good setting. Snow is NOT an issue. You WILL be noted and credited accordingly, and more important, you'll get a chance to share your joys with the rest of the CMP world. Anything produced & used by the Commonwealth Forces in WW2 is acceptable - let's make this go!! You can email your pics to me if you wish and I will forward them.

Thank you.

Jif

PS: Bruce, I believe there's a certain Fox armoured car which needs to see the light of day? Hmmmmmm?

PPS: Let's go, lads - you got it, we want it!!

4 would be nice so I have a choice and all I ask is to remember that not all photos can be used. I need background around the photos and they need to be hi res if possible. Photoshop can perform miracles only to a certain extent. Below is a good example and this one is the cover of the 2009 MLU calendar. The second is the important one and shows why I need a background around the subject. I still have to check the details and the spelling of the owners name so this is only in draft form.
