Hi everybody
I would like to encourage you to post PICTURES of Dodge D-15s. 1. Wartime or 2. restored and running. My D-15 is on the road since 2010. Itīs now rebuilt from (postwar Austrian) LH steering to (original) RH steering. Paintwork follows the GO. Only AFTER painting according the GO I found pictures of original D-15s in Italy - and luckily the camo scheme matched;-) I followed the track of the vehicle: Build date: 2 10 1943. No: 910 48 555. On the frame I found LIGHT STONE as basic color, but it was overall OD when it arrived in Austria. It came with the 8th Army via Italy. After the British forces left the truck was sold as surplus and used by a local blacksmith until the 1980ies. There I found it in a barn in 2004. The livery resembles a vehicle of the 8th army, 78th Battleaxe Div. This Scottish division entered Austria from the south and played a role in the infamous massacre of the Cossacks in Carinthia by handing them over to the Soviets. Later it was a main part of the British Occupation Forces in Austria. The blue marking stands for an engineer battalion. The truck is very reliable, and I even regularly use it for shopping. Alright, please go ahead and let me see YOUR pictures. Cheers, Erwin DODGE - DEPENDABLE TRUCKS. |

Its great to see another one of these rare trucks still running. Here's my September 1942 D15 15CWT GS. Photos next to my Dad's '47 Canadian Dodge Sedan and my wife's 1943 WC54 Dodge Ambulance. Markings are 396 GT Coy RASC 8th Army 1944 Italy. |

Couple more photos showing left and right sides of an early first contract D15 tanker in light stone.
Sorry no reference for these as I can't remember now were on the web I took them from, may be IWM but I suspect these may be factory photos by Dodge Bros. Pete |

How did the ladies keep that "berret" firmly on the back of their heads???? Second question..... seeing you are from the UK and have seen your postings on other site........ I remember reading/seeing somewhere that there was a LRDG "repro" that was made in the UK using the Canadian Dodge axles that accepted the standard CMP rims........ any knowledge of who they were???? curious about their building process.......
