Default 235 V 216

First Of all I,m new to this forum so I'd like to say hello to you all
I am restoring a 1942 4x2 C15 and am in the process of fitting a 1955 235 Ci engine into my truck and I wonder if anyone can help with a few Questions I have.
Does the 235 have an oil filter ? as I can find no fittings for inlet or outlet oil lines, and What colour were Chev engines painted during WWII ?
I have found the engine swap fairly straight forward and am about to replace the front crank seal when I replace the harmonic balancer with one from a 216.
I have also replaced the original 235 water pump with one from an earlier 235 engine using an adapter plate that lifts the pump to its original position on the 216/235.
Am now looking for the two bolts and springs that attach the bell housing to cross member.

Default Yes, it has a filter

Depending on the 235 you have not only does it have a oil filter it has a full flow filter and if the engine is run without the filter it will die a rapid death. Would suggest that you do a search on the previous threads about this topic, it has been discussed at length with many very good points raised along to several useful web sites about this particular engine swap.

As you are working on a CMP you have struck the mother load of information with MLU so welcome to the fun.

PS On this forum most people use real names not pseudonyms, we really are a friendly group.
