Default Mk1* Rubber Straps

Im currently looking for info on the various rubber straps used throughout the Mk1* Carrier.

Ive gone through the parts catoluge and have listed the various #'s for the rubber straps. ive found there are only 5 different ones.

CTL 12117 Front gunners slot, Boys mount up front and the rear Boys Butt mount in the back
TL13274 Boys barrel support 9" x 1.75"
TL13200 Rifle mount up front and the rifle mount on the r.s. of the engine compartment
TL12633 Shovel, pickaxe helve, pry bar under the rear r.s. step
TL12551 Jack handle strap

What Im looking for is any info on the sizes and pictures if possible of the other ones listed. Rob Love told me he has an original of the CTL12117 and Ive also got an original of the TL12551 I will post up later. I think that only leaves TL12633.

Why is there so much apathy. I was hoping there might be other people amongst the 65 veiwers, who would present some info.
Straps. When you say there are only five, i take it that you mean that the others are canvas, because there are more than 5 straps.
You raise more questions than you answer.
TL12633 comes in two lengths. The stores replacement (shorter, and thicker) it may not fit.
I have some that need to be identified. Can you help?
Pics 1 and 2 are the same strap
Pics 4 and 5 are a quick release arrangement. Is it in fact U.C.?

Hi Lynn

Thanks for the info. After I posted saying there was only 5 kinds, I realized that I forgot about the ration bin and the actual jack.

From your first posting, pic 4 & 5 are for the tow chain. Ive only ever seen it in canvas.

C01UC 100842 is the canvas shovel strap. This would have replaced the rubber one (TL 12633 and CTL 12633)

C01UC 100841 is the canvas strap for the Boys barrel support brkt. Not too sure how they fit on the bracket but thats what the parts list shows.

TL7321 is in fact the strap for the tow chain. The parts listing then says to use CTL7321. The strap I have is the same from your pic 4/5 from above. I wonder if although they share the same part # they were trully made differently as shown from your pictures.

TL13822 I have no idea as its not in the parts listing

TL12608 Jack strap, can you give the dimensions for it please. Also is the end with holes have part of it missing? Would they have a hole that close to the edge?

TL13200 Never seen white straps before?

TL12633 Shovel/pick axe/crow bar. Just to confirm. You have 2 different lengths? Long is L 270mm, W 25.4mm, T 3.6mm Short is L 215mm, W 25.4, T 4.8mm

I'd say the white strap is natural rubber. yes the jack strap could be missing the end. I dont know why they have a choice of holes because in practice some would not reach.
TL12633 yes I have new ones, which I dont think will fit through the holes in the steel brackets. The long thin one is original. and if I was making them I would go with the original.
So what do you make of TL13801?
