armstrong-siddeley armoured car
Hello,
I am looking for some info on this intriguing 6x4 vehicle of around 1936. I have found this picture on the web, on the tanks website, which states there were three different prototypes. This is the RAF version, with a .50 turret. Other sources I have are Fletcher (Mechanised Force), Forty and Icks/Crow. All show different pics of this same vehicle, but give little info. What sort of company was Armstrong Siddeley anyway, they did not seem to have built any other military vehicle? Did they belong to a industrial group, like the Rootes Group for instance? I am especially interested in the rear wheel suspension/drive. Could it have been a walking beam type as in the Scammells? Is anything known about their tests for the RAF, or the cars being offered for export, etc? Any info appreciated. Kind regards, Nuyt |

Armstrong Siddeley made cars as well and in the 50's they were similar in class to Daimlers etc. Sorry I have no Pics of these.
