Ford Canada - Impossible project???
Hello!
I was advised to take this question to you guys! I recently discovered a Canadian wartime Ford in the forrest, which at once sounded like something I'd like to restore. Now it has gone a few days since the discovery and my mind have changed a bit, but still I'd like to show you some photos and perhaps to hear your thoughts on it. I would say it is a Ford 15 cwt, which has been shortend a bit. It has been suggested that it might have been used as a timber tug. But for my part, this is just guessing. One thing is for certain, it has run into something since the cab and some of the panel is bent. Any comments/ advice? Marty

Marty, it started life as something bigger than a 15cwt. It has a heavy front axle, which indicates F60 or FGT. This would be a lot of work to restore as the shortening work has removed the rear suspension points and the rear axle is bolted to the chassis; I hope you have smooth roads in Norway!

Shotened Ford
Thank you for a really quick answer. What you say makes sense. First of all, why bother to shorten a 15 cwt which isn't that long in the first place. Then what you say about the axels, which I didn't even think of. I'm not looking for a big truck and this looks like a lot of job anyway, so I think I'll leave it behind.
I might try to find out more of the vehicle's history though. Thanks Marty

Probably useful only as a parts vehicle. Only restorable economy wise if it was one of the last few in the world.

Hi Marty,
We spotted this CMP in Norway a few months ago and wondered who it belonged to. Thanks for joining us and welcome! As commented before, I too think this FGT(?) is fit for spares only. If you're looking for a CMP truck, contact Rolf Ask, he's in Norway too and should be able to help you out. Regards, Hanno

Thanks again!
Thanks for more information and advices. I've been looking around the forum and it looks like a nice place. Lately I've grown fond of other military vehicles than the Dodge I have. So when I stumbled across this one, once again my fantasy started to go wild. Nothing uncommen unfortunately.
This project is now officially scrapped! I will however continue the investigations to find owner and story of the vehicle. There's some writing visible on the doors that I'd like to find out more about. I'll post any new info here. Thank ya all! Would be fun if I got myself a cwt 15! Marty
