Hello out there;
I'm new to the forum, and have a bizarre question for all you military vehicle buffs out there. My father was RCAF and stationed at Chatham in the "hay days" of the Golden Hawks Precision aerobatic team. He was a huge fan and had great pride in working as a rigger with them off and on. In fact a Sabre was the first plastic model airplane my Dad bought for me and we painted it up in the Golden Hawks scheme. Anyway; what I am looking for information on (as I am a bit of a motor scooter fanatic, yes I know, a little different) is; the Golden Hawks had Lambretta Li series motor scooters painted up in Golden Hawks colours (Labatts gold, white and red) which the pilots and crew used to use as "ramp" vehicles. My father remembers these scooters being transported from air show to air show. There was more than one. Probably half a dozen (not sure). I would like to find out if anybody out there knows where these machines might have ended up, if they know of one existing, or even if there is a photo of one. Your help would be much appreciated. (ps. My dad also owned a Lambretta, drove it to work for years and I am now in the process of restoring it) Thanks Kevin Baker Porters Lake Nova Scotia |
