Thought I would give a quick run down of the airshow held in Albury on the 6 Apr 08.
The day was very enjoyable with good weather and a few aircraft doing their thing. Access to to veiw the aircraft was limited when the gates opened, but by bringing a vehicle to display meant we could walk around them and talk to the crews. I assisted with the moving of a Spitfire from its hanger, and took many close up photos. On the day when we arrived security was very relaxed and the event organisers plans had changed the day before, so we just had to be flexable- but we got a very good prominent area to dispaly our vehicles. For vehicles we had the Amy museum with their vehicles/display and people bought the following: 1943 Dodge WC-52 Weapons carriers 1944 Dodge WC-52 Weapons carriers 1942 C15A 1942 MB jeep 1943 GPW jeep 1944 MB jeep 1963 Land Rover gun buggy (106mm recoiless rifle vehicle) 1982 land Rover series 3 & 1944 Chev 3 ton truck. Aircraft present were numerous Yak variants, P51, Spitfire, P40, the Rouletts and others (that is the limit of my knowledge of planes). My 2 kids had a fantastic day and were totally worn out, as you can see, one of them slept in the Dodge on the way home. |
