Is there something wierd about the suspension on that carrier? Looks like it has had a few feet added to it's length.

Seems to be a lot of modification done to this carrier.....
Looks like the engine as been moved forward off center and next to the driver...... and the front hull extended....... now sitting nose heavy without the 2 pounder mounted in the rear.... Do we have an archival picture of the completed two pounder in service....? How was the drive shaft routed on the floor???? sideways... If the transmission shifting rods for the typical UC were complicated this arrangement must have been a nightmare...??? Must a been a great vehicle for engaging the enemy during a tactical retreat!! Just curious. Boob

The 2 pounders all had the engine mounted beside the driver..from the factory.. It was a different arrangement to allow a two pounder to be mounted where the engine normally goes in the carrier.. Got any pix of CC7..??

Hi Alex
Just finished looking at the magic Collins did to create an Australian pattern mortar carrier..... it explains the funny engine position. CC 7 pics will go up this evening...... had to submit them to censor first. Bob

I wonder why they wouldn't have used a similar wheel arrangement as a T16 to balance out the carrier for this purpose?

the drive line comes straight out of the transmission to to diff by a tail shaft in my carrier
but the original vehicles had a transfer case to the diff so the tail shaft would be straight. my vehicle runs a diagonal shaft as it does not have a Tcase. ![]()
