Can anyone tell me anything about this Charging Set. I got it cheap at the markets. Does any one have a copy of a manual or photos of it in service. It still has a Canadian leafy thing label on it!

Darren: PM your postal address. I just happen to have an extra manual which I'll gladly send you...if you promise to get it running! Makes one wonder how a clearly marked Canadian unit got to Oz.
BTW That royalsignals site, to me, seems a pain to access. Also, the muffler apparatus looks to be non-standard. Post Script...A crate of Tim Tams would be well considered!

It is a bit of a long winded process, I gather they got fed up of seeing the manuals they spent hours scanning appearing on E-bay. They have a good selection of manuals though, are good to deal with!

I bought one of those Canadian chorehorse sets , new in its shipping crate , years ago. The crate included many accessories . The spare parts box and tool box had lead seals on the catches. Included in the crate was a little can of WW2 oil ... canvas cover, flex exhaust pipe .Leads in cotton bags. The tool box included pliers , a clip of open ended spanners and a bit of rag . The spares box has spare piston , meter, magneto , manual and many other bits. In the 1950's, many of them were converted to 24V operation , as the 24V Larkspur series radios were coming into service .These typically are in a deep bronze green finish. They are relatively common. The other common type around is the U.S. made 1A , with a 240V and 12v outlet . There were two bore sizes also .. I have used mine a lot, its dirty and oily now. I should have kept it pristine I guess. Bill Drew had a tons of NOS parts for them.. all gone now sadly. Mike
