I am looking for some advice on where I can obtain details of the dimensions, and construction, as well as photos if possible, of the tool lockers that are mounted on the rear of the 1942 F60L Breakdown lorry.
While I was working in kenya in 2006 I acquired one of these (see attached photo), and have subsequently had restoration work done in Mombasa, after which I shipped it back to the UK. As can be seen, at sometime in its history the rear tool and equipment lockesr have been removed. I now want to try and rebuild these, and hence the need for information on them. I have a copy of Wheels and Tracks issue No. 34 which has some very good photos of the vehicle on pages 18 and 19, but I also need to know how the lockers are attached to the chassis, as well as detail of the lock and hinges. If anyone has any suggestions, photos, dimensions, etc, or can point me in the right direction, I would be most grateful. I will also post a photof of the lorry in the arena at Beltring a couple of weeks ago. James |

Terry,
Thanks very much for this. I have checked it out, and unfortunately it is the later, short chassis, model, which has completely different lockers from the earlier long chassis models. A pity, as the photos would have been most helpful, showing so much detail. Thanks again for coming up with it, anyway. James |
