Default How many are working on CMPs today?

A quick poll on Saturday Feb 14th 2009 to see how many CMP projects are being worked on today.

With Corowa just over a month away I was working away on the F15 and it occurred to me there must be several other people and projects being worked on at this very time.

Below is an incomplete list based on those I could think of quickly who would be doing the same. Please feel free to amend or add to the list, you don't need to be preparing for Corowa. How many of you are working this Saturday (wherever you are in the world)?

Please add your name, location, vehicle type and the work you're doing today.

First Victoria:

Myself, Eltham Ford F15. Fitting horn, windscreens and cleaning/painting lots of other parts.

Euan McDonald - Glenburn Ford F60L - fitting front axle to prepare it for sandblasting

John Stokes - Seville - Chevrolet 60CWT cut down chassis

New South Wales

Howard Holgate - Ganmain - Ford F15 cab 12

Tony Elliott - Ganmain - Ford F60L cab 12

Max Hedges - Yass - Chevrolet C30 cab 11

South Australia

Bob Moseley/Colin Jones - C60S based halftrack

There must be a lot more - please let us know!

Default You haven't met my wife...

...else-whys you'd know I couldn't possibly have worked on my CMP on St. Valentine's Day! Did manage to take it for a spin around the block to keep the bearings and seals lubricated though.

Ganmain Tony called in yesterday on his way home from picking up his cab12 front guads and they looked pretty. While Tony was here we managed to eat another sponge that Tony brought ( to swap for parts) and then we headed for the cab 11 to start the engine up, after fitting a new seal to the fuel pump, cleaning out the fuel line we managed to get fuel up and away the old girl went, it even moved under it's own power for the first time in many years.
Howard haven't you got a trailer that you could lend Tony then he could take your diff home as well as the cab 12 bumper he needs that wouldn't fit in his car with his dog

Default Valentines day... not working :(

Well that is ONE day where HRH gets her day.

I did do 'work' the following day, attending the Sydney super swap in Richmond, and bought some rivets for my frame. Managed to get all the grommets for the brake-lines, cables and push-rods. That was MY day.

I wont make Corowa with my truck, but I will be there! I do expect to be close to finished in August. That is six months away..

Default And today, the Sat before Corowa?

Well, this is the day Chris arrives in Melbourne.

The F15 has had the wiring done, and the exhaust and also had it's first 30km drive back from Lilydale and for some reason decided to run on only four cylinders which I have discovered results in most hills being climbed in first gear. A couple of schoolgirls almost walked past me uphill.

Incidentally is this the sort of thing which would happen if one set of points decided to close?

Maxie,
Tony has my trailer & has had for several days now.
It has always been available for him but was needing a wheel bearing adjustment, which he did last week. (sorry to disappoint you, Euan!)
I am in no hurry for my diff. I don't expect to be doing any further work to the truck for a few years. . There aren't enough hours in my day and something has to give and I expect it will be the truck...

Default Portee report

Hi Everyone

Well apart from some touch up painting to be done Tuesday so that it can dry on the way to Corowa, thats if the truck gets here Tuesday, (the RTA had some differing views on that) we have basically done what we can do

We have brakes
We have lights, Thanks Max
We have the genarator working
We loaded the 2 Pounder on the back today
We have some hidden sign writing, Thanks Keith
We put away all the tools, then got them out to do paid work for a customer!!! I basically built / pre delivered two special race bike's for the tour company that I work for when I'm not working for myself or playing with MV's. That was this afternoon's and last nights job. 8 hours per bike
We replaced the fan belts
I think that I have sourced radiator hoses (need to do something when it gets back)
I even found some spares to take to the swap meet.

Need to ring Vicroads and Shannons for permit and Insurance.

I am picking up the Marques in the morning and taking them over, so will see some of the crew tomorrow, then back here to finish up and head of Tuesday lunch time, well thats the plan; lets see what happens.

Tim
