MK1 Canadian carrier battery cover.
Hi all, I want to make a cover for the battery, I have the original battery tray with the two upright threaded hold down stays. I need to make the wooden lid and the pull down angle iron cross piece, I can see from the drawing in the parts manual how it looks but if anyone has an original for exact dimensions of both the cross piece and the wooden lid that would be great.
couldnt seem to find anything about it whilst searching the forum...help!  Were taking the tank hunter to a local rally next weekend so will try and post some pictures up, hope to have new markings on her for the desert rats 7th armoured division, anti tank norfolk yeomanry during the normandy campaign.

I just scaled mine from the few photos around showing these bits. The wood cover was made from plywood and the sides was some kind of scrap hardwood kicking around the barn. I then had some slot wood screws and used them to fasten it all together. Once this was all done I gave it a good painting of Lynseed Oil to seal it all.
The angle iron was also scaled out from the available pictures. I'll try to get some better measurments and pictures this week as I have that part out of the carrier.

ooh Jordan you also have the correct box on that side of the carrier
 pics of that would be nice too hahahaha. was it mk1 or mk2 that had the rifle but rests on the top of the battery cover ?Rich

Richard, do you mean the crew stowage locker? If so Ive got pictures in my restoration thread of it.
Neither mark had the riffle butt rests on the battery cover. They were attached to the floor board. Ive got all the stuff but just have not gotten around to fitting the rests.

Do you mean this box here? It looks like there was one for nearly every type of carrier built, Scouts,Brens, Universal Mk1(*), Mk2(*). The Aussie LP1 even had two (One was deeper)
A question for you (or anyone else)What went in the bracket in the corner of it? (see the fourth picture)
