Default 9X20 tires on a CMP?

Is it possible to use 9x20's on my C15-A?
Someone said it was but now I'm not so sure.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Get the rims off a 60 cwt and they'll bolt right on. They look a bit oversize but they up your overall ratios quite a bit.

So If I only have the rims from my C15-A, I'm out of luck?

Considering that you have 16 inch rims, then yes, you are out of luck trying to put on 20" tires.

The 16 inch rims do have more meat on them than a normal 16" rim. I have some with 16.5 inch tires on them that go on pretty nice. Then again, 16.5 tires are not easy to find either.

Default Rims are available.....

Hi Pedro

You should be able to find good 20 inch rims out West where you live.....

and they will fit....they look good as they fill the fender well nicely... gives you more top speed..... but caution.... your brakes better be good...... 10 mph more can really tax your brakes.

Another consideration is that a 16" rim and military tire weights over 140 pounds...... a good men can handle it alone..... not sure of the weight of a 20 inch tire and rim .... but your wife better be around to help you.....

Bob

Default 20 inch

I used a set of 1100 X 20's on a trip in 2005. Tremendous top speed, i passed slower cars on the freeway. Biggest problem was the gap between 2 to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. I had to really wind it out before up shifting and it easily lost momentum on hills. Ended up gearing way down, sometimes to 2nd.
Looked cool though, I'll try to find a picture from that 2005 trip.
