Default WTB 9.00-16 tyres (bar grip/track grip)

I am looking to buy 4) 9.00-16 or 9.25-16 (bar grip or track grip) tyres for my humber scout. Not looking for NDT's, specifically for British/Canadian 16 inch split rim.

Also looking for 7.00-18 tyres for a dingo..

Hi Lance

9:00 x 16 regular military bar thread are readily available in the States.... or are you looking at the reproduction Chevron thread available from Wallace Wade in Texas....size 10:50 x 16..... and yes they will mount and fit quite well on British/Canadian CMP rims.

Unless you are looking for the S shaped threads on Birtish Dunlop tires which are difficult to find this side of the pond.

Bob

Derk Derin has a set of ferret tires for sale.

These are the run flats, so the bead has to be trimmed a bit to fit the older Brit/Canadian rims. But they will look the part. Don't be put off by the photos showing cracks or gouges. Derk is an honest seller, and will show the worst thats on them. Overall they are nice tires, and with winter here he will be ready to deal in order to get them off the driveway. And with the thickness of the rubber on run flats, you will never puncture them in civilian use.

Default WTB 9.00-16 ND Bar Tread Tyres

I am after a set of five tyres to go on a Dodge Weapons Carrier and was wondering if any of you Aussie's out there have had any recent experience at bringing them in from the U.S.

Hi Bob, that sounds surprisingly cheap even if they are those Indian MDF brand. Have you got some contact info for this mob?
The reason for looking at the American tyres is with the Aussie dollar the way it is they may have been a proposition pricewise and possibly a better tyre anyway.

Hi Graeme,

They have 1100-20 listed on the site you have linked, but on another page, with Lug pattern tread. Over here, 1050-20 was phased out in the late 40's and replaced by 1100-20, have seen some tyres with dual markings on as well.

Do a search on this forum for "agtyre", and amongst the threads on the subject is this response from Lang:

If you contact AGTYRE Wholesale Australian number 1800 028988 or 02 6752 4299 they have 900X16 tyres.

Wholesale price is well over $200, plus freight.

Hi david, as per our phone conversation today, I thought I would let everyone else know. I emailed "Summit Racing" in the USA and purchased 10 of 7.50/20 tyres for my stude in 2 lots of 5. This was to keep under $1000 and not pay gst or customs and had them delivered to my front door for $330 each."Bargain" They organized Fedex to send them and we tracked them everyday. They took 10 days to get here. They are Firestone brand with military on them as well. Great service and I would suggest to ring them at 0500 and talk to a sales person.
Good Luck
Colin.
