Default Canadian Army T-16 and Windsor gun Tractors for 6 Pdr's

Greetings All,

I'm researching Canadian Army Windsor Carriers used as 6Pdr gun tractors in NW Europe, before I start a new scale-model build using the new Resicast kit of same and their 6Pdr AT gun. Although I've got one photo of a T-16 gun tractor in Canadian service (with regimental info), my preference is for a Canadian Army Windsor Carrier gun tractor. I'm having trouble locating any info on which Canadian regiments used them operationally before the war in Europe ended, and have gone through all my books and the usual sites - including Armoured Acorn, to no avail. Would any of you by chance have any info on what Canadian regiments used Windsor or T-16 Carriers operationally as 6Pdr gun tractors, or know of anyone who could help?

Cheers,

Chris Preston,

Hello Chris,

First of all, welcome to this forum.

Have you read Wartime pictures: T16 carrier? It might help you a little further in your research.

Regards,
Hanno

Default Your help with my T-16 request

Greetings All,

Very many thanks for your replies and insight into my request for help - they have been most enlightening. Some of the links are no longer available, but what you have supplied is most useful. This is a great site - one of these days, I may be tempted to join your ranks with a "1 to 1" scale "model" of the real thing.

Cheers,

Chris Preston
