Hi, I found this offered for sale, would this be described correctly?. if some has anyone wartime pictures of it in use?.

I have one for a ford , quite similar .
They where used to keep the heat in the cabs in the winter letting the engine covers get a little warmer as there was no other heat source for the guys I have some picture somewhere, just can't find them. |

This is a photo of my recently sold Cab 12 F8 - hope it shows some detail of the fastening arrangements - studs on the hood part and rods on the main part. |

Thanks, will check the arrangements on my cab 13 Ford. Will sort out the pictures I have of the side curtain bags. Ford and Chev version look alike, but cannot really interchange ![]() Here hoping someone can do the same for the rad cover so the members know what to look for. Regards Hanno

Hanno the Ford covers are fastened with the same studs as on the Ford Jeep windscreen top, and 11/12 cab side screen front flaps, some early Ford covers even have a hole in them so the Ford emblem can protrude through it

I think they are the same but I could never be sure enough to label them as Ford as well as Chev.

I picked up a Chev one figuring that Cab 13 would be the same but it's not obvious how it would fit to the Ford. I suspect it could be different (unless there's some sort of hook to hang it on?)

My HUP and Pat 13 C60S both have little clip slots at the top of the grill that the clips for the cover fit into. In looking at pictures of Fords I can not see those little clips. Strange that will the other efforts to make things look the same or have some degree of interchangeability that these would be different. Now as to the usefulness of the radiator cover to us modern drivers, yes as mentioned it does help keep the engine dog house warmer to increase passive heat to the cab. These covers unlike radiator muffs that fit close to the actual radiator do allow a significant amount of air circulation through the radiator, even when the entire grill is covered. I've driven my HUP and C60S for extended trips in the winter. Drove HUP 200 miles with the temp near 0 F, and with then the Pattern 13 on a 4 hour trip with the temperature around 10 F, I wouldn't say they help much with the heat in the cab on both trips the engines stayed warm I didn't. I suspect that the covers help even the engine temperature out so that it doesn't keep swinging up and down. For those of you considering using the two piece Fenton exhaust manifold without the intake heat manifold or if your standard exhaust intake manifold valve is stuck in the open position the radiator cover helps with making the 216 engine run smoother by providing warm air for the intake.
