![]() ![]() Here I am setting up the camera rig for the Spitfire segment of the "Temora Aviation Museum Warbirds" documentary which went to air in Australia and New Zealand on the History Channel on Anzac Day 2004. In case anyone is interested to see some of the rigs, here is a page of photographs to give some idea of shooting something like this. ![]() The view from the Wirraway looking forward to the 02 camera ship. Hi Keith, I have seen most of these clips on the history channel. You are to be congratulated. Absolutely stunning stuff. Old aeroplanes, especially WW2 aeroplanes are almost as interesting as CMPs.
I haven't seen the credits for your clip but that sounds like Bud Tingwell doing the narration. He was on ABC radio here in WA about a week ago talking about his time as a PR pilot in WW2 flying Spitfires and Mosquitoes. I have always liked him as an actor but now regard him in another way, as a hero. Cheers Rod |

Hi Rod,
Thanks for the kind words. It has been a real privilege and pleasure to work on something like this, combining flying in interesting aeroplanes and being able to honour vets like Bobby Gibbes, Ted Sly, George Hale and many others. Bud Tingwell is just like he sounds in his interviews; an extremely likeable and self-effacing man. Some of his stories are truly remarkable, he held us entranced just telling us some war stories during the recording of the voiceovers. I'm really looking forward to getting back into the air - both for the Temora Aviation Museum and the RAAF Museum.

Our Museum has just received a complimentary video & DVD of the 2004 Temora Air Show. Another success for your company. Brilliant footage and marvelous annecdotes from the heroes. Good commentary also from "Bud". Any aviation buffs out there, get this one, its a goody. Salesman Bob for Keefy |
