Default The War and Peace Revival 2013 - formerly known as "Beltring"

Hi all,

For those who did not know it already, as of 2013 the War & Peace show is no longer to be held at the Hop Farm at Beltring, but is now known as The War and Peace Revival at a venue called RAF Westenhanger – Folkestone Racecourse, Hythe, Kent.

I was wondering who is planning to go to the re-incarnation of "Beltring" this year? I am planning to take my two boys for the weekend, arriving at Friday night.

Who will be there, too?

Regards,
Hanno

Hi Hanno,

Will be there all week, with a three man contingent from Australia joining me. While at Corowa last month there was a lot of interest from others and quite a number are coming from Down Under. I visited the site in February and reckon it will be a better show than before.

Default Transport to War and Peace 2013

Hi, If anyone needs vehicle transport to war and peace this year, going down next Monday and coming back on the Sunday evening or Monday, we have a spare space on the lorry, (craned beavertail). If anyone is interested in the south norfolk, beccles/lowestoft/norwich area please let me know, there and back would be £300 total.

Kevin.

Default Bonjourno Boys!

Im about to head over to London from Milan. Get into Heathrow then to Charing Cross to Westenhanger and War and Peace.

Look forward to meeting a few people and hopefully having a look at what some of you lads are bringing to the show.

I think I may have sunburnt eyeballs by the end of the week.

Cant wait.

Default Its over

What can I say? What an fabulous experience, thoroughly enjoyed myself and met some terrific people.

I cant post photos at the moment but will as soon as I get the opportunity. I think Richard Farrant will no doubt be on here shortly to give some specifics of the event. Many thanks again to you mate and to Rob for helping find a bed and a place to stay.

James Gosling also spoiled me by letting me have a cruise with him and a couple of great blokes, another James and Andy in his superbly restored Otter. It was an experience I will never forget.

Great to meet some other MLUers I'll be more specific with photo's in the days to come.

Hi Tony,
Good to see you over here and to get first taste of the new site, which is going to develop into a great show. The weather has been exceptional too ... see how much we laid on for you and the rest of the Aussies who were at the show ....... wall to wall sunshine. Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself.

regards, Richard

Excellent.

Kevin,Marc,Nigel, Ron & Barry ?

After this years W&P I'm determined to get one there for next year. Rivets to be done next week, painting a week later then it can all start going back together.

If Richard gets his finger out with me and Rick and Shaun bring theirs can we aim for double figures?

Ben

I am onto the engine now.. My problem is that to ship my carrier down there is not a cheap affair... Guess I better get saving now ! Would be cool if they were all the same scheme and we could have a carrier platoon on parade. Alas bar Shaun and myself, I don't think many folk have an interest in the Sicily campaign :-)

Default For everyone

I intend to put quite a few pictures on. If everyone is interested.

I'm sure the blokes on this forum who are a long way away from War and Peace will be interested in these photos...

Have spent a ridiculous amount of time today trying to download pictures of my dodgy phone onto my mates computer and then re-size them. Hopefully they look okay when you open them.

Here's a few...I'll have another go tomorrow.

Mock ups of BF 109, Hurricane and Spitfire around a delightful green shady area for lunch. Traditional sandwiches with scones and a pot of tea with a spot of milk, don't you know...

And if you were nervous that the Hun may make a re-appearance you could always make yourself feel more secure by purchasing one on the many Vickers MG's available at the stalls. (Or Brens or .5"'s or whatever...it was there!!)

NAAFI van was a beauty and so was the lady who was serving very good mugs of tea and bread and butter pudding. "There's a war on! Don't you know?"
