Default Jacking bar finish?

My jacking bar got suitably rusty and it's needs to be refinished. I ended up soaking it in a tub of Evaporust and it has been cleaned right up. Now I need to do something to keep it from rusting up again. Did the original bars have a painted finish or where they blackened?

Default jack handle.

Jordan,

I once borrowed a jacking bar off a guy who had alot of original tools, his was painted the same colour as the carrier.

Anyone got a picture/dimensions of the jack handle for a carrier jack, I need to make a couple.

kevin.

I too need a picture of a jack crank handle so I can make one for my jack.

No answer so far so I will ask if this Holden jack handle is a close enough substitute. I'll have to copy it with a smaller square end or end up with a Holden jack without a handle.

Michael,
Its a good thing that a few people like yourself make the effort to answer other peoples questions, or else there would be no answers.
HR Pearce, We are still waiting for an Australian or Kiwi to give you an answer.
