How to disassemble a HUP

Bubba likes HUP's. He buys as many as he can, he likes them so much. The thing he likes most about them is taking them apart. Bubba's hat isn't locked down that tight! He's figured out the really good stuff on a HUP is the heavy stuff, and all of that is located on or below the chassis. This is where the money is, and Bubba likes money even more than HUPs. Why? Because with money, Bubba can keep his pickup gassed, his women fast and drink beer. Truth be told, beer is at the top of Bubba's 'Like List'!

So where does Bubba start when he gets his HUP home? Simple. He tips it over. He's hit the Motherlode. All the good bits are accessible, now. Let the good times roll!

You might think Bubba has a problem when all the big bits are gone, but not so fast. Bubba has a plan. The big money is gone now. Just the HUP body is left. Not much there at scrap value. So, while there is still gas in his pickup, he drags the HUP close to 'the Wee House'. The gas is gone, the fast women are gone (and the slow ones are scary - even for Bubba), but there is still beer to buy.

As we all know, beer input = beer output. Any excessive energy spent for beer output limits one's time available for beer input, so Bubba keeps his assets close to the Wee House, cuts scrap from the HUP enough he can hump it up the road on his back for cash, hit the beer store and head home.

Bubba's a thinker and he has lots of relatives around the world who think just like him, and they all probably have just as interesting stories.

If only Bubba would still have that frame from the last pic....I am sure some of our members would be willing to swap that for a few beers!

Both have since been recovered by local collectors. One of them stayed locally, and the other went West if I recall correctly.

As to the owner, he wandered into the bush one day and never did return.
