Here is a photo of my carrier. My friend Jeremy giving me a hand to replace the engine. I have owned this carrier since 1976 when I rebuilt it. By 1993 I had worn it out, the tracks were buggered and the motor was so worn we had to tow start it. I pulled it to bits to rebuild it the year our son was born 1992. He didn't know I had this until he was 14. I got it sandblasted and started putting it back together. Son is now 21!! These things take time.

Hi Lew, all going well I should be driving it this weekend. The steering is all adjusted, we have the wiring to sort out, the conduit is in just have to connect the wires to the right places. Connect the fuel lines and then remember all the other little bits that should have been done, the list of these is getting smaller as the week progresses. Hoping to have it all back together for ANZAC day.

This weekend we got the wiring connected up but can't get the starter button to activate the solenoid. I put new rubber bushes in the drive coupling but it still seemed that their would be too much tension on the flanges so we went back to the old bushes and used the spacers I had made up. The generator wasn't as good as I had hoped so we didn't test drive it the fan looked like it may want to part company with the generator. I'll get another generator during the week so should be able to test it properly fairly soon.

Hi Jim, make sure there is a direct earth wire on the start button to the instrument panel, ( solder one on the side ) ,it just normally earth's through the interference of the hole and the outside body of the button , but if you have put paint , etc in the hole and the actual panel itself is all painted , you may not be getting a ground back to your chassis.
