| Australian Wirraway first engine run in 27 years

The Australian National Aviation Museum celebrated the 75th anniversary of the first flight of their Wirraway aircraft today. The Wirraway has been given a birthday too, with new fabric and a paint job showing how it would have looked on that day in September 1939. A20-10 was only the 8th Wirraway built by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation and is the oldest surviving airframe. The Museum is also restoring the oldest Beaufort, A9-13, a massive undertaking. All the aircraft are in static (i.e. non flying) condition. The collection also boasts a Beaufighter, also capable of running one engine. Here's a link to the first engine run today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkYxK2rdd3A
