Took my grand daughter with me today to her first Remembrance Day service.
It was a cold day today a temperature of -8 and with wind chill it was -18. She was a real little trooper thou never complained , she is only three years old and was interested in all that was going on. I explained things to her as service went along and she never even jumped at the 21 gun salute. For being such a cold day it was the biggest turn out in a long time that I have seen. It was so nice to see so many of the kids turn out today, looks like the schools are bringing more of their classes out then years ago. It is very important for them to learn and makes our veterans feel good to see the young people coming out. Please share any stories you may have for this day of remembrance. Thank you again to all of Veterans past and present for their service so we may be free and enjoy the ay of life we have. Eric and Michaela (papa's little peanut) |

Hi All
Remembrance Day, Veterans Day, Commemoration Day ceremonies where ever are moving. For those of us in the Northern US and those in Canada it is also quite often cold. Generally it also marks the end of the MV driving season for our local MV Club over the since 1997 when our New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery opened the ceremonies have grown to be one of the focal points for the state. The wind was very light but every now and then it would catch the flags. At displays like this I generally display the 48 Star US Flag and the Canadian of war period. Cheers Phil

Hi Guys
I am currently away in Malaysia and Burma until the beginning of December and following MLU on my Laptop. I am surprised that there was not one word in the newspapers here in Malaysia on Remembrance Day. I was a bit surprised as being a former British Colony with strong ties to Britain there would have been something to remember the anniversary. I don't think there were any Malaysian troops involved in WW1 like there were from other colonies at the time. I was able to watch some of the celebrations on BBC TV. ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers Tony ![]()
