Can anyone ID the tank that would have used a 6-pdr and a Besa? I assume that this plate is from the Mantlet?

Might be Crusader III. Centaur and Cromwell have a mounting No2, Valentine uses a different one again.
It fits onto the cradle itself, not the mantlet.

Clive,
Its from the weapon mounting that bolts to the inside face of the mantlet. Mike |

Do you know which model tank this would be? I don't know the Brit stuff but I suspect that there were not many that mounted a 6-pdr and BESA in the same cradle. C

Valentine Mk X
Churchill Mk III are both possibles. I don't have the manuals for these two to check the Mounting nomenclature, but both had a BESA coax to a 6-pdr main armament. Mike |

Valentine Mk X uses a No 4 mounting, I don't have anything on Churchill III to check.
