Hi, Can some one please advise the correct lengths to cut the under floor straight exhaust tubes to.
One is longer than the other. Thank you in advance.

Hi Lynn
Trial and (no) error will be your best bet. I ordered over long sections, put the floor elbow and muffler on the hull measure the gap and add on the parallel section from the elbow and muffler ends. You should get a nice snug fit this way. I suspect if someone gives you a number it could vary between muffler manufacturer and the sands of time letting things move around. Ben |

Concur 100%. Make everything long by a foot. One problem in particular that I found was that often the inlet/outlet of my mufflers are timed just in one way. I would turn the muffler to wherever would give me the proper positioning of the outlet pipes, so they would fit in the top deck cut outs. Then I do what is necessary to make the bottoms meet up with the straight pipes.
All this is assuming you do not have left and right NOS mufflers. |

As per Ben and Rob I fitted my pipes into the cast floor nuckles the mounted the cans and marked off where the straight lengths needed to be cut. For the sake of a couple of bolts it made a good job of it.
I used stainless Dairy pipe for mine.

Thanks guys. I will move ahead with caution.
While we're here, Any suggestions for insulation to replace the asbestos panels at the rear........ or can I get away with not fitting any thing? What about just a plain panel steel baffle spaced from the hull plate?

I used woven welding Matt, identical to the asbestos but without the hassle. Email me if you need any.
