Parts ID Please

Sorry to ask for help on identifying these items. If I know what they are I can offer them to appropriate collectors for their projects. They were rescued from a scrap bin.

1. This piece is quite heavy. It stands approx 350mm high. it looks like it is cast (maybe die cast). It has BREN stamped on one base side.



2. I think this is a flag holder mounted to front bumper. Any ideas what vehicle?



3. Storage box from Universal Carrier. It has felt? lining. Where on the carrier did it sit and what did it hold?



3. Fuel tank gauge????



4. Armoured vehicle parts. Painted silver. One is a head cushion I presume and the other look to hold a .30cal ammo box (on a slight rearwards angle).



5. Horn???

Tommy I can't help much, but the Bren thing would mount a Bren gun, and the felt lined box looks like a CMP truck one. I don't think it's a carrier one.
Lets see what others have to say.

Photo 4, I would say headrest from a Ferret with a turret, the plate with the slanted holder for ammo box looks to be from the same or Saracen

And 5 is the fairly standard British FV style 24 volt horn that has been used since the 1950s and is still current today on some kit.

Hi Stuart,

The rusty box is the internal stowage box fitted to Bren Carriers - It holds the cooker.

The silver tinware is the 30cal ammo box holder as fitted in Ferret and Saracen turrets. The padded headrest is fitted to the commanders episcope in the same turret. It stop you smacking your face into the scope as you try to aim the 30.

The bit marked 'Bren' looks suspiciously like a pattern for a sand mould.
