Default Grease Gun Brackets

Can anyone comment on when the Grease Gun Bracket was deleted from Canadian Mk1 production and what they looked liked.

Are they the same as the currently available repro Jeep examples.

I thought they stayed on all the mk1 standard carriers. They may not have been on the mortar carriers or other variants due to differing stowage requirements.
The one I have clips under the two gas tank straps and has two wings which ...oh to heck with it; I'll try and post a picture

Sorry for the size (it's probobly too big) but I'm new to this picture hosting stuff.

Default Grease Gun Bracket

Rob

Thank you for the reply.

My original Fuel Tanks have long since corroded away taking with them the Grease Gun Bracket. At least I now have an example to copy. I assume the Tank Straps pass over the two ends of the braket securing it.

My Carrier is a very late (December 43 from memory) Mk1 Mortar Carrier, so I was not sure if they were still fitting these brackets at this stage. For a short time they must have been manufacturing both Mk's side by side on the production line.

Production may have well overlapped but stowage of the grease gun was likely not the same. The part number on the bracket is TL13109, and according to FUC03, it was only relevant to the mk1std (C01UC). It tied in with the flare gun bracket on the rear of the armor which had a grease fitting to clip the end of the grease gun hose onto. I'm pretty sure I've seen the grease gun listed in another stowage position on the mortar carrier.
For those who do need this bracket, I find that with a 15" monitor, the bracket is exactly the origional size in the photo I've shown. Hopefully one day, when the computers come a little further, you can push a "make" button instead of a "print" button and the bracket will come out of the machine.
