Its not a "tank". It is only tax exempt here if proven manufactured before 1973. You CANNOT drive it on the so-called "digger" (excavator) H licence. The H licence here comes with a 3mph max endorsement if the test is taken on a tracked earthmover. All my contacts did their H licence on a 432. I don't think a Spartan weighs 9 tons. Apart from that some 20K seems a bit steep. R. |

Does seem a little silly that with a published requirement for 20K UKP that the idiots are still bidding in the low thousands. Oh well.... :

| Well Geoffers....

Maybe you have £20k lying around but most of us don't... Someone round here bought an Abbot for £8k in apple-pie order and with spares, which I think is more realistic than £20k for a personnel carrier. G

I would have thought the CVR(T) Scorpion, which does have a turret and 75mm main gun would command a higher value than the other definitely non-tank like CVR(T) variants. That said, after mastering the turning specialities of a controlled diff, Merritt-Brown gearbox, they are awfully quick and even more so with the peace-time electronic ignition governor fuse that lives behind the carb removed. By this means the 4.2 Jag that heaves it all along doesn't cop out at 4750 but you can take it all the way to the 7000 red line. R. |

Therefore "collectorweight" probably 6.5 tonnes. Fell a tad short of the "over £20K" asking price too. R. |
