Ford CMP Found
It's been a long time since I've found a new (to me) CMP while driving. This late war Ford sits abandoned beside a vacant building in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland on Canada's east cost. The sea air and time has unfortunately taken its toll. The same town has the C-47 that serviced the community for decades as a plinth monument.

The engine is a Ford Flathead , But.. are not those wheel hubs Chevy ?

One of my cmp's has the same hubs on it and it is a Ford. I also have a spare diff which is a Ford and is the same.

Sling caps- Ford CMP

I think those hub caps are called sling caps and were fitted to Ford CMP's also. I had a Ford F15A parts truck with them fitted. I thought they were used to attach wire slings for loading the vehicles onto a ship but I have heard of other uses for them. Perhaps another person can confirm or shed some light on their actual purpose. Cheers,
