Over at WARTIMES.ca we've been attempting to verify the WW2 Tac Sign for the 45th General Transport Company, R.C.A.S.C., it seems to have been either 840 or 849 but it's proven difficult to find a definitive confirmation.
I'd thought I'd pop over here and see if anyone has any thoughts on it. The thread is here. Cheers. |

I just had a look at the thread and the answer can be found by closely looking at the photograph of the two motorcycles.

Yes, it does seem like it's 849 that is marked on the motorcycle, and some of the trucks. The question is are those trucks and motorcycles of the 45th General Transport Company? We're looking to find some confirmation that these vehicles and photos are of the 45th by confirming that 849 is indeed the 45th's tac sign in documentation, war diary, etc.
