2nd to 4th Echelon 300 Watt Charging Set Manual
Somebody somewhere in the last couple of months was wondering if such a manual was ever issued as it could provide better detail for restoration and rebuild of these little charging sets than the Operators Day to Day manuals provide.
I had been wondering about this myself for a few years off and on. Back in the spring, I had contacted the Canadian Army Directorate of History asking them if their records had any references to such a manual. In July, I received a reply they could find nothing, but the gal in touch with me suggested I try the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa as they held a pretty extensive repair library for the items they have on hand. Their search process takes a while, but I received a reply this evening. In addition to the three common versions of the operators Manuals we all eventually run across, they were pleased to advise me two CAEME Manuals of the type I was looking for were issued in the 1944 - 1945 time period. It is a small, 9-Page publication but packs a lot of tolerances, clearances and specifications into the publication, along with a few photos and illustrations not seen in the three Operators Manuals.
The coding for the two issues changed significantly between the two: FZ110 and FZ114, along with a V120/V122 and a J120/J124. They sent me a PDF along with one for the three Operators Manuals. The rider in all this is the War Museum has cleaned these manual up prior to digitizing them and they have taken out a Copyright on their work. If you want a copy for your own reference, you will have to write them directly with your request.
