Default What's the vehicle?

The aircraft is a Bristol Blenheim Mk IV and the trailer I think a Queen Mary, but is that a Thornycroft prime mover?

Default And another couple

http://www.oldcmp.net/Images/Aircraf...n_trucks_2.jpg

This shot was taken from a larger image of 5 squadron Boomerangs

The one on the left is I think a Ford/M-H tanker and on the right a Federal (?)

Thanks for the photo/s Keith:

On your last, no question on the jailbar Ford but may I suggest the other one is an International. Not sure if a D7/8/9.
If Cliff is lurking tonight, I imagine he can say yes or no.
Cheers
Bill

LOL and here I am. International is my bet as well Bill, mainly due the very round look to the front mudguards over the wheel, but like you unsure of the exact model. Could be a K7 but not sure.

nice pics keep them coming Keith

PS> Bill I think you mean K7/8/9. and not D7/8/9.

Keith while looking at the second blow up of the other trucks you say it could be a lendlease Chev with a radar or wireless body on it.

I think it is a 1941 conventional chev with the guards cut out for the large tyres similar to this one taken at Corowa this year by Tony.

cheers
Cliff

Cliff/Keith:
Thanks for the correction, Cliff. I see so many D's and so few K's that my left middle finger automatically hits the D key when I see an Inter

As to the other photo, to my eyes the nearest vehicle looks very much like a Burma Dodge, mainly due to the odd placement of the headlights. And...what about the one in the background??
Almost looks like another Inter.
Cheers
Bill

Default Truck in background

Yes, Bill I think it's a K5 Inter although I don't think the radar truck is a Dodge - Chevs were commonly used by the RAAF.

http://www.oldcmp.net/Images/Aircraf...973/chev_1.jpg

I know the body is slightly different but I think it was a variation of this sort of Chev which I photographed at Point Cook

Keith:
Yes, I think you are correct. What I took to be headlamps was a shadow or my eyes are just worse off than I thought. It does indeed fit the profile of your first Chev example photo.
Cheers

Default K7 Tanker

And judging by the side vents and shipping numbers it is a 1941 K-7 International tanker . Australia received substantial numbers of the K7's.
