ok the canadian BD is from 1951-55 or so. i will send you a pice of matching wool to make a first aid dressing pouch.
sizes are 3,5,8,9,11, and 18. british size is 6A 38-39 waste and 41-42 seat (P-49) thanks dave

BD without Pockets
Officer's sometimes removed one or both of the front patch pockets from their battledress trousers. This was especially true early during WWII while stationed in the UK while units were in training. They still prefered the smooth front as presented by the previous issues of service dress trousers.
Post war the practise could have been done by other ranks as they often retained their uniforms after leaving the service. These trousers then saw continued use outside the military. One reason you find a lot more blouses than you do trousers. Same thing applied to the German military where released prisoners continued to wear elements of their former uniforms.

Missing Canuck Bits
I've got a lot of stuff that was cut out of all three of the books due to space and format. Also due to me going on and on about something I thought was interesting but then decided most people wouldn't care about. This happened a lot in the weapons book and there were probably fifty pages of material cut out that was actually written and formatted.
A lot of the Canadian items were were also left out on purpose if they were not main stream type things. This was because of the large number of experienced Canadian authors, many on this web site, who have pokers in the fire with other projects that will likely include them. Will definately have books at Brent's event and also at the Central Texas Militaria Show in Belton the week before. Jeep will also attend both as long as Double D still has space for me. Sure he will post in response  Clive or Ed might have an answer on the post war BD having pockets intentionally left off. Might be a sub classification in their uniforms regulations for field vs day to day dress trousers.

yes you will have a place for the jeep and trailer, Z is setting up the 20mm, 5cm infantry gun and 37mm AT gun with (captured) T-16, etc.. so it will be 4 areas WWII US, WWII brit, WWII german and modern. just went over 200 tables today with more latecommers calling every day.

 Don't know why he is upset about the cost of reserving a space for the vehicle to display inside since its a wash if he has even one friend as he'd be getting the free admission passes. On a similar note, I just got finished making new rifle clip holders for the inside of the windsheild and on the cowling of my airborne jeep. Will be something new to see at the show since I won't have the radios mounted.

I picked up the Korean War set of BD at an estate auction in Vancouver years ago. They belonged to a Major of the RCASC and the pants had only the map pocket, most likely due to the personal tastes of the officer.  CHIMO!

the problem is.....
1. that some people that live in 1960 dont understand that things cost money these days and 2. for most people if i get a $10 comitment that means they may not back out if they plan ahead. im just having fun with this  i love the fact that people are going to punish me , yes thats what 1 e-mail said "punish" me by not bringing a MB jeep to the show. ow well its going to be a great show even without the jeep, right now there are over 16 jeeps showing up... i think i will live
