Eric's new shed
2nd attempt.
Here is my new shed. Just enough room for 4 vehicles, but plenty of room for a lean to on the outside rh. The roof is now on and so work can really begin in earnest.

The Indignity!
Is the shed going to be fully kitted out for vehicle repair, storage or both?
You often wonder what happened to all of our CMPs once out of army service. Some had better civie lives than others...I feel sorry for your truck - Septic Tank Cleaning isn't a noble job, but I suppose it is better than knocking over trees in Manitoba... RHC

Shed Size
Hi Eric
The shed is not big enough, but no matter how big you build it, it will never be big enough. No matter how big you build , it will always be filled up. There is a direct correlation between shed sizes and projects and no matter what you do you will always end up with more projects that shed space. Bob

Salesman Bob, you are right.
A shed is never big enough. I am already planning the lean to on the side. That is why the walls are 2.7m high. The size of the shed is 12m X 6m. I should have gone 7m wide as there is not that much space between the vehicles and the walls. It will be a squeeze to get the Blitz in, once the roller doors are up. It is nice to have the extra roof area as we live out of town. Not that it is falling from the sky anyway. The floor will remain dirt and maybe some gravel later on, I would rather spend my money on more vehicles than on concrete.

Dirt floors
Hi Eric:
We left the floor in our shed dirt for a number of years and discovered that the vehicles were rusting from the bottom up... moisture in the soil condensed on the lower parts of the vehicles and encouraged rust. We splurged and put in a six inch 6000 psi slab (it needed to be able to handle heavy tracked vehs (Rams/Sexton) and cost $10K for 110'X42'. If you can't afford concrete, then lay down stone dust, roll it and pack it good and hard, lay down a vapour barrier of really thick plastic and then another layer of stone dust. Welcome to the "never enough room in the shed" club. Our 4620 sq ft is stuffed to the gills! Cheers! Mike
